In 2012, Owens Corning is replacing their Duration with TruDefinition Duration. These new shingles have a better nailing strip that is made of woven fabric instead of plastic, and they have increased the color variation in the color line.
BY FAR, the biggest thing you need to know about the new Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles is the new, improved woven fabric nailing strip. Why is it so cool? The fabric helps keep the nail from blowing through the shingle. If you nail through the common bond area you will have a shingle that will be one of the most resilient shingles against blow offs you’ve ever used.
